Community Support Worker
* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: £23,500 per annum, (rising to £24,000 after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period)
* Compulsory participation in the 2nd Tier out of hours on-call rota
Purpose of the post: To provide specialist support and deliver educational programmes to women and children living within Gwent who are affected by Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and/or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV)
Specific Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist support services to women who are accessing our services.
* Support women to undertake and engage in initial and ongoing needs assessments, risk assessments, safety plans, and support plans.
* Attend core group and other similar meetings when directed, ensuring completion of all tasks allocated to CWA.
* Follow up referrals and notifications from other agencies including police PPN reports.
* Support, signpost, and refer women and children to the services they wish to engage with, for example, social services, the police, parenting, health, legal, DWP, housing, homelessness, recreational, educational, and cultural services, as well as CWA’s other internal services.
* Work with women and children in an empowering and engaging manner.
* Assist, when directed, with the delivery of group and educational programmes.
* Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service and casework, including inputting information into our Information Management System.
* Assist in producing qualitative and quantitative data, including for example, the creation of case studies.
* Support women and children to have a voice within the organisation and the sector, by encouraging them to complete surveys, give feedback, and attend associated events.
General
* Demonstrate and promote the organisation’s ethos, vision, and values.
* Represent the organisation at external meetings, public events, conferences, and similar, ensuring that the Organisation’s reputation is protected and enhanced.
* Actively work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to achieve better outcomes for women and children affected by VAWDASV.
* Participate in team meetings, supervision, and appropriate training.
* Work within the Organisation's Policies and Procedures at all times.
* Any other reasonable duties as required.
It may be necessary, following consultation, to amend the job description in light of experience and changing circumstances.
A current valid driving licence, access to a car, and insurance covering business use is essential.
