The Opportunity
We need more than just a social media specialist. We are seeking an experienced, well-rounded professional to lead all aspects of our organisational communications and marketing requirements.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this position is responsible for developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies, creating resources and collateral, and managing our part-time Social Media Coordinator – all to enhance the profile, awareness, reputation and financial sustainability of The Y Central South Island.
Ideal Person Specifications:
* A qualification and/or minimum 5 years’ experience (preferably in the non-profit sector) in communications and marketing.
* Strong strategic thinking and communication skills (verbal and written) and creative design capability to support communications and marketing goals, and to tell the story of the impact The Y’s mahi has on our participants and communities.
* Excellent administrative and computer literacy skills; proficient in MS Office suite of programmes, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat Pro, SurveyMonkey, photo and video editing programmes, WordPress, MailChimp, etc.
* Solid experience in utilising/optimising social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) for communications and marketing purposes.
* Strong understanding of The Y Central South Island’s mahi and the communities we serve.

* hold a full New Zealand driver licence.
