Social Care in Action is proud to support individuals across the Southampton community, helping them stay safe and well.
Are you a driver looking for a fulfilling role in your local community? If so, you could be a great fit for our team.
We currently have roles for individuals who like to work alone or as part of a double-up team.
Evening shifts are available Monday to Friday across Central, East, and West Southampton, from 17:00–22:00. Additionally, long day shifts on the weekends run from 07:00 to 22:00, with a two-hour break.
Given the nature of the role, there is a requirement for candidates to hold a full, valid, and clean driving licence, access to their own motorised transport, and a business insurance policy.
About You
Are you a friendly, compassionate, and dedicated person? If so, you would be perfect for our Support Worker role. You will become part of an amazing team of carers that ensures that our customers receive the support they need.
For us, personality and passion come before education. Caring experience would be a plus, but as long as you have the right attitude and values, then we’d love you to apply! You’ll always be supported and looked after by your SCA Care colleagues and the wider Social Care in Action family.
About the Role
A Support Worker’s role can be wide and varied, and no two days are the same – but here’s an idea of what you could be doing:
1. Promoting and encouraging independence while assisting the people we support with their daily routines.
2. Identifying new opportunities for integration, participation, and inclusion available to the people we support, both within our services and the community.
3. Providing quality personal care, which could include bathing, toileting, etc., depending on individual needs, while maintaining respect and sensitivity.
4. Participating in household tasks, which include cleaning, cooking, ironing, washing, etc., while encouraging the people we support to join in.
5. Engaging in conversation and sometimes having a belly laugh together over something silly!
A full detailed job description can be provided upon request and will be given as part of our recruitment process.
