Electrical Design Engineer

Role Overview:
* Create and implement temporary electrical building services design solutions
* Ensure integration, technical assurance, compliance, health, safety, and sustainability within the design and engineering process to enable a compliant, defect-free handover for operational service, delivered on time and within budget.
* Coordinate with the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, maintaining a regular flow of information to meet the requirements of CDM regulations.
* Work as part of the CBS electrical design and electrical team to provide comprehensive design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design services for systems including:
690V AC distribution
400V AC distribution
110V AC distribution
Lighting (including emergency lighting)
Sockets and plant/equipment supplies
Fire alarm and detection systems
General support solutions
* Collaborate with design teams to ensure all integration elements are incorporated in the final designs.
Deliverables:
* Prepare and deliver the following documentation:
Specifications
Datasheets
Calculations
Schedules
Drawings
* Review and verify vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications.
* Support the Design Manager and contribute to design and construction reviews, ensuring thorough sign-off.
* Assess design risks, prepare risk assessments, and communicate residual risks effectively.
* Provide technical support and propose innovative, robust solutions.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical consultants and suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
* Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Clear focus on collaboration, ensuring cost-effective and practical design solutions.
Effective communicator at all levels with the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
Advocate for innovation and continuous improvement in design processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
Competency in design software such as Trimble ProDesign, Dialux EVO 10.1, and AutoCAD (desirable).
Detailed knowledge of relevant codes of practice, particularly under CDM regulations.
* Educational Qualifications:
Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical Installation Services.
