Our client is looking for an experienced transport planner to work in a fast-paced office-based role. You will need to have excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to work in pressured situations.
The role of a transport planner is to maximise efficiency, service and compliance by managing the day-to-day plans for the region. You will be planning loads due to be delivered from hub to store, so previous experience in a similar role is essential.
This role requires you to start at 3am and work until 11am, so you must ensure you can commit to these hours.
You will be responsible for:
1. Depot to store transport load building, routing and scheduling
2. Providing daily, weekly, monthly and annual statistical information to aid planning and implementation
3. Reviewing and continuously improving plans to improve efficiency.
4. Providing accurate and effective information to stores and sites regarding the plan, including feedback channels to aid engagement.
5. Coaching and influencing depot teams to maximise service and efficiency, and ensure delivery of all commercial targets on the depot balance scorecard
Knowledge and Experience required:
1. Excellent communication both written and verbally
2. Competent user of all Microsoft Office applications
3. Familiar with transport management systems
4. Previous experience working in a transport environment
5. Working knowledge of transport/driver hours and regulations
