Class Responsibilities
To take overall responsibility for a class or groups of children as designated by the Headteacher. This overall responsibility will include:
1. The provision of a stimulating, effective and attractive working environment.
2. Planning, teaching, evaluating and developing agreed programmes of work to promote high educational achievement.
3. Assessing, recording and reporting pupil progress in accordance with agreed school policy.
4. Ensuring that the special educational needs of children are acknowledged and met as far as is possible, and that individual children’s dignity and self-esteem are respected and enhanced.
5. The management of children to ensure that they are aware of, and freely conform to, a framework of clear and sensible rules.
6. Liaison with teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, governors, educational support services and other relevant agencies.
7. To uphold a culture of safeguarding at all times, caring for and nurturing each individual child, and alerting the Designated Safeguarding Lead with any concerns.
8. Welcoming and supporting parents as partners in the learning process of children.
9. Responsibility for registration and other general administrative matters relating to the class.
10. Upholding the school’s Christian ethos.
Team Responsibilities
1. Awareness of the aims and objectives of the school and working towards their fulfilment.
2. Participation in staff consultations and professional meetings.
3. Providing professional support and advice to colleagues.

1. Qualified teacher status
2. Degree or equivalent
3. Commitment to continuing professional development
Teaching:

1. Excellent classroom practitioner
2. Commitment to ensure that all children have access to effective, engaging and inspiring teaching and learning
3. Commitment to raising achievement for all children through a broad, balanced and creative curriculum
4. Ability to plan, organise and manage the teaching and learning of a class
5. An understanding of an effective learning environment and the ability to create one for children of all abilities
6. Ability to use ICT confidently and effectively to enhance learning
7. Ability to assess the progress of children and differentiate effectively
8. High standards and expectations for all in work and behaviour
9. Ability to develop positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and governors and to work well as part of a team
