Are you someone who can accept people as individuals and celebrate their unique challenges and triumphs without judgement? If so, we want to hear from you.
At Milestones Trust, we understand that to build the right support for a person we first need to understand their individual needs, wants, and ambitions and to adapt to their changing circumstances and desires as they progress through life.
Felix House is a mental health recovery pathway service located in Weston Super Mare, providing person-centred support to enable individuals to rebuild living skills, resilience, and independence. More than just a place to live, we provide an engaging recovery programme designed around the individual.
We are looking for people to join our team who are committed to providing meaningful community involvement and share the values and principles of positive behavioural support.
As a Support Worker, you will ensure that the people we support are at the centre of their support package. This may include accessing the in-house development programme that includes bite-sized workshops, including IT skills, life skills, relaxation techniques, healthy eating, and exercise.
You will also support them in developing and maintaining relationships with family and friends, and accessing external programmes and activities, such as bush craft, job skills, volunteering, assertiveness skills, and art and woodwork classes.
Supporting with administering medication is a requirement of this role, so a willingness to undertake medication competency training is essential.
The successful Support Worker will have a caring manner and a tolerant nature, be able to work proactively, both collaboratively with the team and lone working, while supporting the people to meet their goals and aspirations in the community setting.
Flexibility is a must, as you will be working a variety of shifts, which will include weekends and waking nights. Experience within the sector is desirable but not essential, as we will provide you with training required to carry out your duties.
At Milestones Trust, we recognise that without the hard work, commitment, and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:
* 30 days annual leave entitlement
* Company pension scheme, to help grow your retirement pot
* Learning and development opportunities to help you build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme, and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions etc.
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Get paid when you want – access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
* Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
* An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn points that can be converted to cash for family members or friends that you point in Milestones’ direction
We pride ourselves on being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within Milestones Trust.
