WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a Design Assistant passionate about Menswear to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to tasks. As a Design Assistant, you will work closely with our design team to assist in all aspects of the design process, from concept development to final product delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry and contribute to the growth of a dynamic menswear brand. As a Design Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our design team and contributing to the creation of our next collections.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Collaborate with the design team to research and gather inspiration for upcoming collections.
· Assist in creating mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings to communicate design ideas.
· Support the design team in fabric and trim sourcing, including researching new materials and suppliers.
· Organize and maintain the design studio, including keeping track of samples, swatches, and design materials.
· Assist in the creation of tech packs and spec sheets for production.
· Participate in fittings and garment reviews, taking detailed notes and making necessary revisions.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing and merchandising, to ensure design concepts are executed effectively.
· Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor analysis, and market research to inform design decisions.
· Contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the design department.
· Organise and prepare for all photo shoots, in-house and on-location.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, or a related field preferred.
* Previous experience or internship in a design-related role within the fashion industry is a plus.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong sketching and illustration skills.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for menswear fashion.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
* Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
