Are you an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping service users with severe and enduring mental health needs regain their independence, functioning and improve their quality of life? Priory Hospital Enfield is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our small acute mixed (Blake) ward. This mixed ward consists of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team supporting service user's recovery.

Priory Hospital Enfield is a small, specialist hospital providing tailored care across four wards: one medium secure (male-only) assessment and intervention ward, one medium rehabilitation ward, one low secure (male-only) ward and one acute mixed-sex ward (6 male and 6 female patients). Located close to Central London with excellent transport links, Edmonton Green Overground across the road and Edmonton Green shopping Centre, we offer convenient access to the M25 and surrounding Home Counties.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential role in enabling our service users to develop greater independence, confidence, and control in their daily lives. Using the MOHO framework, you will assess their abilities, design tailored treatment programmes, and implement interventions to help them overcome challenges and progress along their recovery pathway.
You will work closely with our dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and other professionals to deliver a flexible, tiered programme of group and individual interventions.
Core Clinical Responsibilities:
To comply with the RCOT code of conduct and the HCPC guidelines.
Conduct assessments, interventions, and evaluations for a designated caseload using the MOHO framework.
Facilitate therapeutic activities and individual/group sessions for service users through embedding recovery principles.
To adapt activities and assessment to facilitate persons with Cognitive difficulties, Language difficulties, Social skills deficits, and Challenging behaviour, to work with interpreters where required
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement, review treatment plans and complete Activities of Daily Living (ADL) reports to support timely discharge.
To participate in client related meetings as required e.g preparation of written reports and verbal presentation of information at team meetings and handovers.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings, including referrals, reviews, care planning, and weekly ward rounds.
To communicate effectively with service users and carers, team members and other agencies.
Provide practical advice, support, and education to service users, their carers, and colleagues.
Ensure accurate, timely documentation in line with professional standards and organisational policies.
Conduct risk assessments, identifying any potential hazards in the service users' environment.
To be aware and have a working knowledge of current legislation and polices regarding Mental Health Act 1983 and the Care Act 2014 including safeguarding adults.
Participate in ongoing service improvement and evidence-based practice, adhering to NICE and DH guidelines.
Core Non-Clinical Responsibilities:
Actively promote Occupational Therapy within the service.
Participate in the development of the Occupational Therapy pathway at the hospital.
To supervisor Activity Coordinators and Occupational Therapy Assistants
Assist in the recruitment of new staff, supported by senior team members.
Support the service in meeting performance and contractual targets.
Deliver training to other professionals as needed.
Requirements:
BSc Hons or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and accreditation by the HCPC.
Strong personal organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
Experience working with secure and/or acute environments (desirable but not essential).
Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
