The Team and Role
As a Data Technician Intern, your overall objective of this role is to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of infrastructure services within North East NMC.
As an Intern, you will work alongside the team through:
* All road works undertaken by the Operating Company.
* All road works undertaken by third parties.
* Incidents and events occurring on or near the Unit, within and out of Normal Working Hours.
* Liaise and communicate with relevant Operational Partners and disseminate accurate and timely information to assist in the effective delivery and coordination of Operations including Incidents and Special Events occurring on or near the Unit during roadworks.
* Assist to coordinate, monitor and control all roadworks, incidents and events to minimise road closures, using the Roadworks Module, Scottish Road Works Register, Traffic Scotland Service website and other relevant systems.
* Assist in managing roadworks module.
* Assist in implementing escalation procedures for roadworks, incidents and events which exceed allowable delay thresholds.
* Evaluate the impact of roadworks, incidents and events to identify improvements for future roadworks and events.
* Liaise with Incident Liaison Officers and relevant Operational Partners in dealing with Incidents occurring during roadworks.
* Support the Network Manager in delivering the Operating Company's duties and responsibilities in relation to Legislation.
* Assist on specific tasks relating to the planning and implementation of roadworks or Special Events.
* Assist with reports on the impact of the Operating Company's activities on the journey time reliability of the Trunk Road network.
* Liaising with relevant Operational Partners to ensure the Operating Company’s procedures are fully compatible with the Network Operations Service Providers operational procedures.
* Support the Incident Liaison Officers in managing the delivery of the Trunk Road Incident Support Service.
What We Need From You
* England-based applicants will typically require at least 5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C / 9-4 including Maths (Grade B / 5 or 6), English, and Science or their equivalent.
* Any Data related Studies.
* A Full UK driving License.
