The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and ambitious Personal Tax Director to join their dynamic tax team in London. This is a pivotal role, offering the opportunity to lead and shape their personal tax offering, manage a significant portfolio of complex clients, and play a key role in the strategic growth of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a substantial portfolio of complex personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts.
2. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing proactive and strategic tax planning advice tailored to their specific circumstances.
3. Oversee the delivery of a full range of personal tax services, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and residency matters.
4. Take responsibility for the technical accuracy and compliance of all personal tax work within the team.
5. Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize clients' tax positions and mitigate risks.
6. Stay abreast of changes in UK and international tax legislation and advise clients on the implications.
7. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of personal tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
8. Contribute significantly to business development activities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and potential referrers.
9. Play a key role in the strategic direction and growth of the personal tax department, contributing to the firm's overall objectives.
10. Collaborate effectively with other departments within the firm to provide integrated and holistic advice to clients.
11. Represent the firm at external events and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.
About You:
1. A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) and/or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) with significant post-qualification experience specializing in personal tax.
2. Extensive experience managing a diverse and complex portfolio of high-net-worth personal tax clients.
3. Proven track record of providing strategic tax advice and delivering innovative solutions.
4. Deep technical expertise in UK personal tax legislation, with a strong understanding of relevant international tax issues.
5. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a team.
7. Strong business acumen and a proven ability to contribute to business development and client acquisition.
8. Highly organized, commercially aware, and client-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
