FP&A Manager
What will you do?
To provide the TP Leadership team with commercial oversight and financial planning support as part of the Travis Perkins Finance team. Own ‘the number’ and ensure reporting is accurate and consistent through coordination of activity across the team and broad networks around the business.
Some accountabilities of the role:
* Regular (at least weekly) flash forecast of monthly out turn, comparing to budgets, re-forecasts and prior year. Consolidate input from different parts of the business to ensure robust forecasting process.
* Monthly consolidation of reporting to group and Senior Leadership Team. Create timely and useful insight on relevant business challenges to drive action at board level, including variance analysis and KPI reviews.
* Risks and Opportunity tracking to ensure the Senior Leadership Team is well informed on potential headwinds, that there are no surprises, and mitigating actions can be taken.
* Play a key role in the annual strategic planning process, coordinating activity around the brand and creating informative slides to aid the discussion.
* Support the Green and Gold Finance Director in the preparation of Business Reviews and PLC slide decks as required.
* Build a broad network in both Green and Gold Finance and the wider group finance teams. Act as a bridge between them to foster collaborative working.
* With support from others in finance, take ownership of P&L / Balance Sheet understanding and reporting on items such as Capex, Transport and Property, along with bonus provision, stock and debtors.
* Tracking business performance against TP strategic objectives, and preparing a report for the Monthly Executive Pack, and Executive Committee meetings.
* At all times ensure information is accurate and consistent and take care with highly confidential information.
* Consolidation point for various BUs within the Green and Gold business.
What you’ll need to have/be:
* Graduate calibre qualified accountant.
* Minimum 3-years post qualification experience in a commercial environment.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Ability to prepare documents for an executive and PLC board audience.
* Competent user of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides, to include the analysis of large data sets.
* A strong knowledge of accounting principles and the key performance indicators.
* Comfortable with the fundamentals of budgeting & forecasting.
* The role includes interaction with a significant number of stakeholders and different levels within the organisation. The role holder must be comfortable with interacting with colleagues of all levels.
* The role will involve explaining complicated financial matters to non-finance colleagues and therefore must be able to simplify complicated concepts.
* Strong attention to detail.
