Cardiac Investigation Unit
Working Environment:
The cardiac investigation Unit is a 21 bedded unit which is a combination unit for both elective and inpatient cardiac patients. It is a unit that admits both day cases and short admissions for elective and routine cardiac investigations and interventions. We also care for cardiac inpatients which include those being remotely monitored via our telemetry system in the Coronary care Unit.
What we are proud of:
Providing patients with both physical and psychological support pre and post procedure. Great use of Criteria led discharge means that patients are discharged in a timely way. Use of our Radial lounges to promote Day case procedural recovery.
What you will be involved in:
Our dedicated nursing team provide speciality care which will include procedure and investigation work-up utilising skills such as cannulation and venepuncture and post-operative skills such as arterial sheath removal.
A close working relationship with both Coronary care and the cardiac catheter laboratory provides our nurses with a unique learning opportunity.
The unit interacts with our experienced cardiac specialist nursing teams to provide enhanced support to our patients in areas such as heart failure, Chest pain and the cardiac rehabilitation and surgical liaison team
