Design Engineer Heat Pumps - €55-€70k per annum depending on experience- Co. Armagh
The Role
We are a leader in sustainable energy solutions in Ireland, looking to appoint an experienced Design Engineer Heat Pumps to our team. You will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimising heat pump systems across a range of applications, including residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. This role also offers the exciting opportunity to recruit and manage a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruit, develop, and manage a team of engineers to support the company’s growing heat pump design and installation needs.
2. Design heat pump systems (Air Source, Ground Source, and Water Source) for residential, farm, and commercial applications, ensuring optimal efficiency and performance.
3. Analyse system requirements and optimize heat pump performance for various applications, including low-temperature heating for underfloor and high-temperature radiators.
4. Work closely with project teams to provide technical guidance, ensuring system designs are tailored to meet client needs and Irish regulatory standards.
5. Specify mechanical equipment such as heat pumps type and accessories based on application requirements.
6. Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, and sales) to ensure smooth project execution from design through to installation.

The Person
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
2. Relevant certifications in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems or energy efficiency.
3. Experience with heat pump design and implementation, including both high and low-temperature systems.
4. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
5. Knowledge of system optimization techniques for enhancing heat pump performance.
6. Familiarity with control systems and monitoring technologies related to heat pumps.
7. Experience fitting heat pumps advantageous.
8. Practical experience with heat pump systems in both new builds and retrofitting projects.
9. Experience providing technical support or training to installation teams.
10. Understanding of local building codes, regulations, and standards related to HVAC and heat pump systems. Familiar with SEAI grants and application processes.
