Title: Technical Product Manager - Insurance and Financial Services

Reporting to: Head of Insurance and Financial Services
Responsible for: Product Support Executives (currently 3)
About the job: Develop a high performing, cost efficient team of technical experts: providing product, technical, administrative and processing support and insight in respect of financial services. Appropriately reduce costs and support the growth of products, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service to members. Ensure all information provided to consumers is technically accurate and easy to understand.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
1. Lead, coach, develop and support team members to achieve objectives and personal development plans.
2. Ensure there is sufficient resource to manage the phones and support the contact centre during working hours; supporting the team during busy periods answering calls and dealing with medical screenings and contact centre queries.
3. Manage, to successful resolution, queries relating to insurance and financial services products and processes.
4. Implement processes to ensure regular reporting and analysis of work dealt with by the team. Make changes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, improve staff knowledge and improve member understanding and experiences.
5. Ensure all financial services materials used in the department and contact centre e.g. scripts, training materials, FAQs/AI information, process/procedure documents are up to date, technically accurate and compliant.
6. Ensure all external facing financial services materials are regularly reviewed to ensure they are technically accurate and compliant, and reported on annually.
7. Regularly review, report findings and insights, and recommend/implement actions for improvement from reviewing and tracking member and contact centre feedback on all Club financial services products.
8. Review and approve financial services marketing activity ensuring accuracy and evidence of any claims being made in the material is appropriately saved and shared for compliance approval.
9. Undertake reviews of competitors’ products including policy wordings, producing concise reports highlighting changes and the impacts of changes.
10. Write and/or support the production of policy wordings and other product documentation ensuring it can be easily understood by consumers, is technically correct and is accurately reflected in all supporting documentation.
11. Contribute to projects as required.
12. Ensure the Insurance and Financial Services department is sufficiently and appropriately represented at exhibitions and events (including attending yourself).
13. Complete a minimum of 15 hours (or as required by regulation) continuous professional development each calendar year to ensure sufficient competence is maintained in line with FCA rules.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Management experience: experience of leading, coaching and motivating others.
2. A strong understanding and experience of personal lines insurance - industry, market place, structures, products and compliance.
3. Experience of approving marketing activity for technical / product accuracy.
4. Experience of writing insurance policy wordings and/or other technical customer documentation.
5. Experience of undertaking competitor analysis work and reporting on insights with recommended actions.
6. Insurance knowledge of touring outfits and/or travel.
7. Technical knowledge of and relating to touring outfits is strongly desirable.
8. Ideally, experience of translating FCA compliance requirements into actionable deliverables.
9. Experience of working in a matrix management structure, and collaborating across departments and teams to achieve goals (preferred).
10. Ability to write and present reports in Google Slides (or Powerpoint).
