Working with Cycle’s US and UK-based Legal team, the Commercial Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance, advice, and support to the US management team and broader operational functions. This role will focus on commercial and contract matters within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.
The Commercial Legal Counsel will report to the General Counsel and work closely with the US management team, including the Chief Commercial Officer, Associate General Counsel, and Director of Compliance & Medical Affairs.
As a critical partner in Cycle’s US expansion, this role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to be deeply involved in the company’s growth and legal strategy.
The role operates on a hybrid basis, 3x a week in our Cambridge office.
Key Responsibilities
Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Legal Support
* Provide commercial contract support for new product launches and ongoing business operations.
* Review advertising, labelling, and promotional materials to ensure compliance with FDA, FTC, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
* Advise internal stakeholders on the impact of new rulings, regulations, and legal opinions, providing practical guidance to minimize risk.
* Collaborate with teams across Cycle’s business and scientific units in a team-oriented manner.
Commercial Contracts & Regulatory Compliance
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts to support Cycle’s US operations, including:
* Supply chain and distribution agreements
* Master service, vendor, consulting, confidentiality, and business associate agreements
* Drug development and manufacturing agreements
* Provide timely legal advice to all levels of the US organization.
* Engage and manage outside counsel when additional expertise or legal support is required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, with a valid practising certificate or eligible to register as in-house counsel.
* 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry, either at a major law firm or in-house.
* Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills with experience handling commercial agreements.
* Ability to provide practical, analytical, and business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders.
* Flexible, collaborative, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external business partners.
