The Role
As a Cloud FinOps Manager, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, you will co-ordinate initiatives to achieve cloud cost optimisation and instil a “FinOps Ready” approach to deployment of cloud services, working with product owners, platforms and the business where appropriate.
Day-to-day Accountabilities:
1. Cloud account administration: manage and administer cloud-based financial accounts, including monitoring usage, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
2. Financial reconciliation: be responsible for reconciling cloud provider invoices and charges to ensure accurate billing and financial reporting.
3. Cost optimisation: optimise cloud costs by identifying opportunities to reduce expenses, optimising usage, and negotiating contracts with cloud providers.
4. Vendor Support: Liaise and collaborate with cloud providers and other vendors, including negotiating contracts, resolving billing disputes, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
5. Reporting and analysis: create financial reports and conduct data analysis to provide insights into cloud usage, costs, and performance.
6. Security and compliance: ensure that cloud usage and financial management practices comply with security and compliance regulations.
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and can be based from any of our main UK sites, with adaptive working options.
Essential experience of the Cloud FinOps Manager:
7. Experience leading FinOps projects and initiatives
8. Setting up Cloud FinOps operations and governance models
9. Sound understanding and experience of defining of IT recharge models
10. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise your workload to ensure that deadlines are met
11. Good understanding of cloud cost optimisation techniques and billing/metering for cloud platforms
12. Knowledge of cloud contracting, commitment, licensing models, cloud strategies, Dev-Sec-Ops, and cloud-based operations
