How You'll Play a Part.
As a highly skilled and personable ER specialist, you will bring your expertise to effectively manage a high-volume caseload of employee relations cases. Your focus will be to provide managers with consistent, comprehensive and pragmatic advice and support, ensuring compliance with best practices, organisational policies and employment legislation. By employing proactive strategies, you will aim to prevent the escalation of issues into formal processes fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
As a self-starter you will also play a key role in supporting the People Operations Team by contributing to organisational and operational projects that are instrumental in driving positive change. Your communication skills and personable nature will enable you to build strong relationships with managers and colleagues facilitating effective collaboration and problem solving. By being proactive and solution orientated you will play a crucial part in creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that values and respects the well-being of all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Building trusted, credible relationships with managers across our business to provide specialist ER advice and solutions for complex, high risk or high-profile cases, following through to resolution and tracking advice given in the ER Case Management control document.
* Supporting and proactively managing sickness absence cases and monitoring trends. Assisting with the identification and resolution of problematic cases and long-term sickness issues, liaising with the Company's Occupational Health provider where required.
* Support and advise in case management in grievances, disciplinaries, investigations and performance improvement plans.
* Escalating any complex, high risk or high-profile employee relations cases to the Head of People Operations.
* Creating a positive employee relations climate; coaching Managers to fulfil their people management responsibilities.
* Keeping updated in specialist employment legislation knowledge to provide sound guidance and expertise to management.
* Working closely with our People and Culture Partners to keep them updated and informed as appropriate.
* Striving for excellence, whilst continuously improving delivery of HR services, in collaboration with the Head of People Operations.
Requirements
What you'll bring:
* Technical HR and people experience in the areas that matter, such as ER, policy and procedure.
* Proven track record in a similar role.
* Experience of handling a high volume of ER cases.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload.
* Knowledge of HR software and systems is an advantage.
* A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

Reporting to the Head of People Operations, you will work closely with stakeholders, both from across the business and within your own team. The makeup of the team is highlighted in the visual below.
Some rituals the team has in place to stay connected include:
* Monthly 1:1s with your manager.
* Regular retrospectives to review how things are going for you and as a team.
* Quarterly planning activities.
Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week from our Meadowside Office. However, we are open to considering a 4-day working week (28 hours) for the right candidate.
