What will you be doing?
As a Civil Engineer Degree Apprentice you will develop capability in civil, structural and 3D BIM computer aided design. This can include anything from delivering clean and waste water design projects to reading drawings, model reviews and producing clean and concise sketches to be incorporated into 3D models.

Apprenticeship: As an Apprentice, you’ll join onto a Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship attending Salford university weekly as well as working as part of the Engineering team at MWH Treatment in Hattersley. The whole process will take approximately 6 years. At the end of the 6 years you will have completed your Civil engineering BEng (Hons) and achieved Incorporated professional status with the ICE.

Qualifications required to apply:
* GCSE Maths and English at C or above (or equivalent)
* A minimum Grade B in A-Level Mathematics
* A minimum Grade C in one of the following: Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Design and Technology, or Physics
* AS-Level Physics at Grade B would also be accepted
* A Pass must be achieved in all science practicals.
Flexibility – The role is essentially office-based and whilst there may be periods when attendance on site (either MWH or a Client's), the need to commute anywhere within the region on a daily basis or on occasion lodge locally to a place of work is a requirement of the role.
Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently.
Strong work ethic - self-motivated, flexible and reliable with good problem-solving skills. You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task - managing both work and educational commitments.
Excellent computer skills - a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.
Curiosity - a natural curiosity regarding how things work, is a desirable characteristic common to all commissioning engineers.
