The Role
The holder is a member of the Quality Team, assisting the Quality Manager to oversee day to day activities, delivering team performance, member of the HACCP Team, maintaining Quality compliance and ensuring adherence to GMP and Health & Safety standards
The Person
Ideally qualified to degree (or equivalent) level in an appropriate scientific subject, or relevant Quality experience in a Manufacturing Environment, including being a qualified ISO Internal Auditor.

Knowledge and Experience
* Assist the Quality Manager in the day to day management of the Quality team, deputising as required for the Quality Manager.
* Interpret and implement internal Quality Procedures, ensuring compliance to HACCP, NSF, ISO9001, ISO22000 and BRC standards.
* Co-ordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers and Customers.
* Evaluate the adequacy of Quality Standards in relation to products and business activities.
* Monitor and maintain the Non-Conformance and Change Control procedures, ensuring all stages are completed in a timely manner.
* Take a leading role in the carrying out of Internal and process auditing, identify non-conformances, carry out shop-floor inspections and propose opportunities for improvements.
* Support all other departments through necessary QA functions and in conducting robust RCA required for Internal Non-Conformances or Customer Complaints using RCA tools, concepts and methodologies. Monitor CAPA actions for completion and effectivity.
* Supporting Quality Control activities with regards to Goods-In Quality Inspection and Finished Product Quality Control release when required.
* Take responsibility for Supplier Quality actions
* Collect, compile and analyse data to identify areas for improvement within the Quality Department.
* Propose and implement improvements to working practices and take the lead in departmental projects.
* Represent the Quality Team at meetings as appropriate, providing status updates on behalf of team and providing feedback to team on required actions.
* Assist in identifying training needs and organise training activities to meet Quality Standards. Ensure training records are monitored and complete.
* Ensure Health & Safety and Quality Standards are being adhered to all times within the department.
* Assure on-going compliance with Quality and Industry regulatory requirements, taking a prominent role in preparing for and hosting certification, regulatory and customer audits.
* Develop, maintain and Lead the site’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System to ensure compliance and improvements where possible. Specifically ensuring all areas of manufacture have the appropriate food safety risks identified and that associated controls, CCPs, etc. are correct and effective. Hold regular HACCP review meetings and ensure all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
* Understand, Manage and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS)
* Manage and maintain the site’s adherence to Environmental monitoring and Calibration
