The Secured Lending UK Team is part of Retail Banking and has responsibility for the mortgage portfolios of HSBC and first direct, representing c.£131bn+ in balances. The team are crucial to generating substantial revenue for HSBC UK.
We are seeking an Assistant Product Manager. This role reports into Pricing, Planning and Performance team for Mortgages and helps manage performance and planning processes. You will play a key role in the ongoing management and monitoring of performance and competitive positions, meaning we work towards ensuring the proposition becomes best in class. You will drive forward performance through developing and using rich insights, whilst working collaboratively with colleagues across the business (Risk, Finance, Treasury, Operations, Underwriting Services, Digital).

In this role you will:
* Provide SME expertise to drive process improvement for Pricing, Planning and Performance processes. Conduct product analyses and research for consideration and action.
* Support annual plan (FRP), quarterly forecasts, including developing executive level packs and dashboards.
* Support performance reporting by acting as SME for root cause analysis for variances (deviation to plans and forecast) for weekly, monthly performance including Trading reporting and Monthly performance using data rich insights.
* Awareness of the internal governance processes and regulatory requirements associated with a performance role.
* Open and honest engagement with stakeholders to solicit feedback to improve the business and our service to customers and brokers.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Experience in a relevant previous role within retail / personal banking such as Product Management, Analytics or Performance Management is essential.
* You must be very strong in Analytics and an expert in Excel (building financial models). You will also have working knowledge of SAS or SQL and R or Python.
* Experience of using analysis to drive business performance.
* Experience working collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
* Proven ability to diagnose, understand and resolve and communicate complex issues.
* An understanding of the UK Mortgage industry would be desirable.
This role is hybrid and can be based in Birmingham or Leeds.
