Job Description Training and Core Responsibilities: Your role begins with a comprehensive paid 12-day consecutive training program at the Fire Service College in Moreton-In-Marsh, covering skills essential for deployment, including: Hose running Hydrant operation Pump operation Ladder climbing HAZMAT (Decontamination training) Road Traffic Collision (RTC) – the use of hydraulic cutting equipment First Aid Breathing Apparatus (full mask) for search and rescue Offensive and Defensive Firefighting Key Responsibilities: Engage in ongoing training to maintain deployable status, including a 12-day initial training and annual 6-day refresher courses. Participate in scenario-based training and skills practice during ‘stand-down’ times to ensure full readiness. In the event of a deployment, be able to respond quickly to designated emergency locations within the UK and be prepared periods of training and exercises. Support emergency response activities, performing tasks typically handled by public service firefighters. Adhere to safety protocols for personal protective equipment, including use of breathing apparatus.
