The Warehouse Team Leader for the Inbound Department is responsible for overseeing the inbound operations team to ensure the efficient and timely receipt, inspection, and storage of inventory. This role requires a detail-oriented and motivated individual who can lead a team, streamline processes, and maintain a high level of accuracy and quality in inventory handling. The Team Leader will coordinate closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and maintain a smooth flow of goods within the warehouse. Key Responsibilities: Supervision and Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates in the inbound department, ensuring all team members understand daily priorities, safety protocols, and performance expectations. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for skill development and growth. Act as a primary point of contact for any issues or inquiries from the inbound team. Inbound Operations Management: Oversee the unloading, inspection, and receiving processes for incoming shipments, ensuring inventory is accurate and in compliance with company standards. Coordinate with the Receiving Clerk to document and address any discrepancies in quantity, quality, or damaged goods. Ensure goods are accurately labeled, sorted, and moved to appropriate storage areas in a timely manner. Inventory Control: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory movements, monitoring for discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with Inventory Control and other departments to improve tracking and organization systems. Conduct periodic inventory audits to verify stock accuracy within the inbound section. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase the efficiency, safety, and accuracy of inbound operations. Work with the Inbound Manager and other team leaders to optimize workflows and minimize delays or bottlenecks. Train team members on new procedures and ensure they are followed consistently. Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce warehouse safety policies and procedures, ensuring the team adheres to all safety guidelines to minimize workplace hazards. Conduct regular safety checks and promptly report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or potential hazards to the relevant department. About You Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. 3 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role, ideally within inbound logistics. Skills & Competencies: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey instructions clearly and collaborate with team members and other departments. Proficient in warehouse management software (WMS) and basic computer applications (MS Excel, Word). Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to [specific weight] lbs. Comfort with standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
