Applicants should have good interpersonal skills and a calm approach to working with children and with other adults. We are looking for someone who is organised, efficient, cheerful, lively, reliable and hard working. The Pupil Support Officer will: Provide First Aid, pastoral and welfare support to the pupils of the school, and where necessary the staff. Be a member of the Pastoral Team. Keep records of accidents. Write Care Plans. Liaise with the kitchen staff about allergies. Administer medication and first aid as necessary. Ensure first aid supplies and kits are up to date. Report to Governors through the Headteacher report each term on attendance and accidents. Receive safeguarding training and be a member of the Safeguarding Team. Monitor attendance daily and half termly including accurate record keeping and liaison with families and the Educational Welfare Officer. Be part of the Attendance Team. Be responsible for school admissions and school leavers. Liaise with Barnet Admissions Team. Assist in the smooth running of the office – answer telephone calls and the school gate, welcome visitors, use and maintain the photocopiers, take messages and enquiries from parents, work effectively as part of the office team. A current First Aid qualification is essential for this role. Experience of working in schools in similar roles would be an advantage. Ongoing training in key areas will also be made available to the successful candidate regardless of their experience.
