Job Description The opportunity has arisen for the position of Director of North East of Scotland Transport Partnership (Nestrans). With experience at a senior level of working with Boards or Committees, we look for a motivated and innovative Director to advise the Partnership Board on all aspects of its transport responsibilities. You will lead the work of the Partnership Executive and liaise with other transport stakeholders to ensure that the Partnership’s aims, priorities and budget are effectively delivered. Nestrans is one of seven Transport Partnerships established under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005. It covers the areas of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils and is managed through a Board comprising of four Councillors from each of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and four non-Councillor members appointed by the Minister for Transport. Working in partnership Nestrans both develops and delivers the long-term regional transport strategy and leads on the delivery of strategic transport improvements. The aim is to support quality of life for residents across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire by improving the economy and environment. This strategy sets the vision and direction of transport for the region up to 2040, ensuring a safer, cleaner, more inclusive, accessible and resilient transport system.
