The Role
As a Programme Procurement Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Over the next five years, the submarines business within Babcock is entering an unparalleled period of activity. The procurement and supply chain function need to take a front and centre role in the support of planning, executing and performance-managing the supply chain needed to help deliver the submarine programme outputs.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide leadership to a team of procurement professionals and enable us to plan, execute and deliver all the supply chain outputs required to support our programme now and into the future.
1. Creating a fit for the future resource plan, ensuring that all future resource requirements are identified and funded
2. Provide leadership into all our internal and external stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact
3. Act as the bid lead within the programme
4. Help with the design of an enterprise supply solution to meet programme requirements and maximise performance whilst minimising risk and complexity
5. Effective incorporation of centre category strategies into the supply chain plan and design for the programme.
This role is full time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience of the Programme Procurement Manager:
6. Proven leadership to a team of procurement specialists and create an environment to enable them to execute their plans successfully.
7. Working on supplier performance and contract management disciplines within the team
8. Proven experience with specific programme requirements and builds into supply chain plan and future strategies for programme delivery
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
10. Computer literate
Qualifications for the Programme Procurement Manager:
11. Qualified to degree level or equivalent. – Desirable
12. MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications. - Desirable
