Progress Teachers are working closely with a rural Alternative Education Provider to appoint two dynamic and knowledgeable Vocational+ Instructors to provide dedicated 1:1 support pupils with SEMH/ASC and associated challenging behaviours. The successful candidates will provide individualised support for pupils, aiding them to develop their core skills in Maths and English, whilst also accessing vocational courses both on-site and off-site. Responsibilities:
* Provide instruction for pupils in English and Maths to GCSE-Level under the direct supervision of the Vocational+ Coordinator.
* Provide off-site support for pupils in college and other provisions.
* Encourage pupils to integrate positively within the wider school environment and establish positive methods of self-regulation inside and outside the classroom.
* To form part of a cohesive team within the school, as well as liaising closely with external agencies to ensure effective wraparound support is in place for all pupils.
* Use your own form of transport to travel to different educational provisions and settings across different locations and distances.
* Conduct home visits as required and remain vigilant for Pupil Protection / Safeguarding Concerns, responding to these in-line with school policy.
* Communicate effectively with parents/carers and colleagues to provide updates on progress and establish clear plans to support pupils effectively.
Key Qualifications / Attributes:
* Maths & English GCSE (Grade C or Equivalent)
* Evidence of further study post-18.
* Prior experience working with young people who present challenging behaviours and / or who have struggled to positively engage with formal education.
* Ability to deliver vocational and academic learning to pupils on a 1:1 basis, confidently responding to misconceptions and gaps in knowledge where possible.
* Ability to drive and possession of own vehicle for work purposes.
* Computer literacy and ability to record information clearly and securely on different databases
