We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering a professional and proactive premises management service ensuring the academy operates efficiently for the benefit of all stakeholders. The Site Manager manages Health and Safety for the site, monitoring and recording tests and activities as required on the appropriate systems.
The successful candidate will:
* Work with the Estates Manager and Business Manager to develop the maintenance plan and budget for the academy.
* Monitor and operate within the agreed budget at all times.
* Assist with developing medium & long term strategies for building maintenance.
* Administration of building related matters; maintenance, repair, servicing, etc.
* Effective supervision and direction of site and any cleaning staff, maintain timesheets, attendance records, etc. where required.
* Liaison with contractors, obtaining quotations and supervision of contractors on site, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations and quality control of the work carried out.
* Undertake regular inspections of the site, buildings and plant, recording necessary repairs, obtaining estimates and liaising with contractors.
* Record all deliveries and maintain the required information in the log books/stock cards, ensure adequate supplies are maintained to meet the needs of the establishment and the cleaning staff where required.
* Implement, support and review all H&S activities, policies and procedures.
* Work flexibly at other sites as and when required to provide support/cover.
Essential
* Experience within a relevant construction/facilities trade background.
* Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity.
* Previous knowledge of determining priorities and assisting in setting longer term objectives of the management of the site.
* Experience of undertaking maintenance tasks, arranging for quotes from sub-contractors and supervising works.
* A working knowledge of Health & Safety law, Compliance within premises/work environment.
* Previous experience of H&S management systems, maintaining and recording of the relevant data.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
* Knowledge of legionella and asbestos regulations.
* IT literate and knowledge of estate management data systems.
* Supervision of staff.
* Ability to deal with emergencies and problems in a positive and systematic manner.
* Ability to solve problems within area of work/knowledge.
* Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team.
Desirable
* Health and Safety regulations, IOSH, NEBOSH general certificate or similar.
* Previous experience of a similar role, managing premises, grounds and associated facilities.
