Job Summary
My Client is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Scaffolding Estimator to join our growing team. This role is essential in driving the success of their projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing, and fostering strong client relationships. You’ll work closely with operations, project managers, and customers to deliver high-quality estimating services across a variety of projects.
Scaffolding Estimator - Responsibilities
* Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
* Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and constraints.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for scaffolding materials, labour, transport, and equipment.
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure feasibility and accuracy of bids.
* Submit timely and competitive quotations or tenders.
* Provide quotations for additional works or variations as required during the project lifecycle.
* Track and analyse win/loss ratios and adjust estimating strategies accordingly.
* Maintain a database of pricing, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Update and maintain the company’s valuation system to ensure all quoted costs are accurately captured and reflected in project financials.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to support repeat business and new opportunities.
* Provide technical support during project execution, as needed.
* Ensure all estimates comply with relevant health & safety standards and industry regulations.
Scaffolding Estimator - Skills
* Proven experience as a Scaffolding Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or access solutions industry.
* Solid knowledge of scaffolding systems, components, and industry best practices.
* Strong understanding of pricing, labour costing, and materials take-offs.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and drawings.
* High attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
* Proficient with estimating tools, Excel, and general office software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Scaffolding Estimator - Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant certification or qualification in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* CISRS/OSHA or other scaffolding-related certification is an advantage.
* Experience with both independent and system scaffolding.
* Familiarity with project management or construction estimating software.
* Knowledge of local building codes and health & safety legislation
