Reddbrick are recruiting for a Regional Contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects across the West Midlands. Currently, they are seeking a talented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support projects throughout the region.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be a member of the project team, responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the project Quantity Surveyor with:
2. Conducting comprehensive cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans.
3. Supporting the subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms.
4. Monitoring project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures.
5. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management.
6. Collaborating with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions.
7. Supporting with the preparation and submittal of monthly reports on project financial performance.
8. Conducting cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
1. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
2. A working understanding of forms of construction contracts including JCT, NEC, and D&B.
3. Experience of apartments, residential apartments, and high-rise accommodation would be of interest.
4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
