To independently manage and provide an effective ECG service at UHCW and St Cross, Rugby and City of Coventry Diagnostic Centre on a rotational basis To be able to organise own day to day work tasks and activities. To ensure tests are performed in accordance with protocols and that data is accurately documented and processed in a timely manner. To have knowledge and understanding of the procedure for recording electrocardiograms on patients of all ages and conditions, without supervision, providing support and reassurance as appropriate. To have the knowledge, and understand the significance, of an ECG recording, liaising with appropriate technical, medical or nursing staff as required, ensuring that information is communicated in an appropriate manner. To fit ambulatory ECG and BP monitors to patients, and to remove the monitors preparing them for analysis without supervision. To issue ECG event recorders ensuring that clear instructions for use and return are given to patients. To ensure an appropriate mechanism for identifying the location of ambulatory monitors is maintained within the department. To understand the significance of results of BP recording and to liaise with Cardiac Physiologists should the need arise. For further details please see the attached job description.
