Senior Authorised Person- HV Substation & Network Projects
Location: Glasgow
Toro Recruitment have partnered with a leading multi-utilities provider to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Authorised Person to join their team. This permanent position involves working on a variety of high-voltage (HV) substation and network projects, including the inspection, maintenance, and installation of HV/LV equipment. You will ensure that projects are completed safely and efficiently, contributing to the success of crucial infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection and maintenance of LV/HV substation equipment.
2. Protection testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
3. HV/LV jointing including specialist cable terminations.
4. Installation and commissioning of switchgear and transformers.
5. Testing of earthing and associated equipment.
6. Produce remedial works quotations and manage project documentation.
7. Compile work packages, job instructions, and RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
8. Coordinate work of technicians, craftspeople, and subcontractors.
9. Manage individual project resource allocation.
10. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other parties to ensure project objectives and expectations are met.
11. Ensure projects meet safety and technical system performance requirements.
12. Plan and execute HV switching, isolation, and earthing up to 33kV.
13. Issue permits and safety documentation in line with company and customer safety rules and procedures.
14. Conduct testing of installations and systems, analyzing data and compiling reports.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
1. HNC in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Distribution or equivalent).
2. Experience in Private Networks and/or the Renewable Energy sector.
3. Familiarity with current Health & Safety legislation.
4. GWO Certifications for onshore wind farm work (preferred).
5. Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling qualifications.
6. Full clean driving license.
7. Strong IT skills.
