Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Ensure all Drivers but not restricted to, Driver Trainers, are trained and competent to use ETCS in foundation, level NTC and Level 2 to achieve the requirements laid down in Railway Group and Company Standards.
Develop lesson plans and competence standards for all areas of ETCS
Development of Simulators to deliver other Driver and associated Operational training and assessment and developmental material, using simulation, as required.
Ensure training and competency records are maintained and are in date.
Develop and implement company specific systems and standards for driver training and for driver simulators and set up the process for day-to-day running and maintenance.
Assist with the building of simulators and ensure they are fit for purpose for the OTM’s in question.
Qualifications

• D32/D33 or A1or A2 qualification / NVQ Assessor

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
* Provide the key company interface and liaison with the supplier for the manufacture of the operational simulation requirements
* Manage the day to day running of the simulators
* Liaise with the simulator supplier with respect to the maintenance and upgrading of the systems
* Design and maintain simulator ‘lessons and sessions’ to meet both the Company’s Competence Management System and Training requirements
* Design and implement the processes and procedures to ensure that the simulation properly augments the existing Driver Competence Management and Training regimes
* Ensure there is a process for simulator exercises to be continually updated and developed so that most effective use is made of resources.
* Act as the subject matter expert with respect to the use of ETCS associated with Competency Management and Training of staff and, on an ongoing basis, to provide the relevant input to the Company Standards
* Design, develop and maintain safety critical lessons and sessions to augment and enhance the Company’s existing assessment and training, to meet all current Railway Group and Company Standards, ensuring that the relevant internal and external approvals and accreditations are gained and properly recorded
* Design and develop individual remedial plans and the associated lessons and session for use in the simulators to address the operational deficiencies identified by approved assessment and training procedures
* Assist in the conduct of competence assessments / traction refreshers and associated training delivery as required
* Maintain full and accurate records of all assessments and training conducted within ETCS
* Deliver training and carry out competence assessment of drivers to ensure they achieve and maintain a consistently high standard of delivery that meets company requirements
