Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of HSDU Production Co-ordinator working at the County Hospital site, cover will also be provided at the Royal Stoke site as required.
This is a fully flexible job role and shift patterns may be changed at short notice.
Shift Patterns: Predominantly working core shifts between the hours of 10:00 - 18:00. Hours to be discussed at interview.
On call rota is essential.
Pay scale – Band 5 as per Agenda for Change terms and conditions.

Main duties of the job
The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services include the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments used in surgical and medical procedures. These items are checked into the department after use, then are cleaned, disinfected, packaged, sterilised and delivered back to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
The successful candidate will have high standards, show a genuine interest in healthcare and patient safety, and be able to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
To provide management and technical support to the department by overseeing the production of all surgical products throughout the unit and line management of staff.
Ensure all areas of the quality management system are adhered to, making suggestions to processes and practices to improve production flow and meet new and emerging standards.
Take an active role in the quality system, auditing of processes and system.

Qualifications
* Evidence of higher level study; Alternatively working knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
* Experience of delivering and facilitating in challenging environments.
* Experience and/or qualifications in the specific area of Organisational Development
* Portfolio of certified/accredited professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
* Internal Auditor Trained
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
* Experience of delivering training programmes & presentations to various levels of staff
* Good written and communication skills
* Ability to understand, interpret and critically analyse data and information
