We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated asset officer who is able to use their own initiative to work independently in order to solve problems and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. The post holder will manage, monitor and advise on condition surveys for the Council’s asset portfolio ensuring planned maintenance of council properties takes place appropriately including regular updating and monitoring of planned maintenance schedules. The postholder must be able to adopt a flexible approach to work, and occasionally work outside normal office hours. This is a full time role and the postholder will ensure a professional, practical and comprehensive service is provided. You will manage the day to day arrangements for Harborough Enterprise Centre regarding mechanical & electrical and facilities management services, supporting the Operations Manager for Harborough Innovation Centre and the Facilities Officer & Engineer with such matters. Promoting a positive image of the Council both internally and externally, you will provide a key interface between all users of the HDC building portfolio and service provision on a day-to-day basis. As responsible person for legionella procedures and the authorisation and implementation of permits to work on Council owned property, you will ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and good practice. The successful candidate must have: - HNC in Building / Surveying / Property or equivalent (or be able to demonstrate equivalent aptitude) and; - Relevant, recent experience in delivery of management operations for a medium to large building either through direct delivery or an outsourced service and; - Experience of work planning and management and managing service provision by external providers and; - Experience of budget administration / monitoring. Your attention to detail, the ability to learn quickly and your adaptable approach is essential. You will be keen to put forward your suggestions for changes or improvements to service delivery for the benefit of our customers, and you will have demonstrable experience of working in a team environment. You will also have excellent communication skills to ensure good working relationships are formed and be a competent user in MS Office including, Word, Excel, TEAMs and Outlook.
