POSITION SUMMARY:
Working closely with the Technical Services Manager, as an integral part of Sampled’s Technical Engineering Team, the primary remit of the Technical Services Engineer is to provide Validation, Service and support for Sampled and their clients internally and externally. The role requires daily interaction with colleagues and with clients in a broad range of organisations within the Life Sciences sector including pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure internal and client equipment is validated, serviced and maintained within regulations and kept operational at all times.
2. Internally, support will be provided for equipment at the Company’s facilities in Glasgow (70%) and for Clients across the UK (30%).
3. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and ensure all work is completed safely, in a timely manner and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice standards (GMP).
4. Validation, Calibration and Service requirements:
* Stability chambers
* Fridges
* Freezers
* ULT freezers
* Cryogenic freezers
* Incubators
* Photostability chambers
* Warehouse and lab ambient maps
Develop positive relationships with clients, applying depth of knowledge, and establishing self as the go-to person for day-to-day support. Communicate opportunities for additional business with existing and new clients to Technical Services Manager and Commercial Team. Be an effective team member, delivering quality customer service and ensuring issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner. Occasional travel may be required to Client and other Sampled sites in the UK. On-call work will be required, one week per month. Perform related responsibilities as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience as a Technical Services Engineer ideally in a scientific working environment, for example Pharmaceuticals, Biobanking, Laboratory Services.
* Qualified in Electrical Engineering.
* HVAC engineering qualifications preferred.
* Experienced in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and meeting Regulatory requirements.
* Familiarity of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) advantageous.
* Experience of a strong Health & Safety and Quality culture.
* Proven ability to deliver quality customer service and ensure issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a small team.
* Able to maintain and grow relationships with internal and external clients.
* Strong organisational skills, with flexibility to respond changing priorities.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
* Able to work independently, driven to deliver results.
* Able to undertake occasional travel within the UK.
