The strategy builds on the institution’s existing strengths and sets a framework for excellence and innovation to deliver further impact for the benefit of all of our communities in the context of an increasingly competitive environment. To help drive forward its strategic plan, the University is looking to appoint a Director of Sport and Active Wellness.
Reporting to the Director of Estates and Campus Services, the deliverables are:
● to lead the delivery of the University Strategy for Sport and Active Wellness
● to manage a diverse group of colleagues across the Sports Division including; monitoring and evaluating service delivery in line with Directorate operational plans
● a demonstrable commitment to ensuring an inclusive and supportive culture amongst our Student Sports Clubs. Creating a values-led culture which drives the emerging University Strategy for Sport and Active Wellness
● to be at the forefront of developing a giving and major gifts strategy with the Major Gifts team to support sports scholarships and the redevelopment of the University’s Centre for Sport at Headington
● collaborate with academic sports colleagues to explore and inform opportunities for co-existence in areas such as the sporting estate; sport and physical activity, wellbeing, student recruitment, skills/careers and research.
