Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts
We are looking for a full-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our tertiary hospital team.
Our maternity service has a variety of specialist clinics (both scan and non-scan) including mental health, vulnerable service users, twins, preterm birth, small baby and Rainbow. The services are multi-professional, including our specialist midwives.
The general obstetric commitments include both routine and emergency obstetrics and non-resident on call (for obstetrics only). The key clinical requirements of the post are to provide consultant labour suite cover, elective caesarean lists, ward rounds, maternity triage, assessment unit cover and antenatal clinics.
For gynaecology, we are looking for someone with an interest in general gynaecology to support the community service and general gynaecology clinics within NUH. The proposed job plan has a procedure session for hysteroscopy or colposcopy included and will also include cover for emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy on a 1 in 16 hot week rota and cover for the elective gynaecology ward 1 day per month.
We have a two-tier gynaecology on-call consultant rota, one consultant is rostered to cover emergency gynaecology at the QMC campus, and the other consultant is on-call for complex surgery, which includes oncology at City and maternity on both campuses, in the event that a gynaecologist is required to support the obstetric team.
Main duties of the job
Please see the job plan for a description of the clinical sessions. The balance of activities will be as described, but the scheduling may be amended, after discussion, prior to commencement of the post.
