A bit about the role Ballymena & Little Steps Sure Start provides a range of health, play & learning and parenting support services to children, from pre-birth up to four years, and their families. The project comprises a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team and works in close partnership with a range of local Statutory, Voluntary and Community service providers to promote effective service delivery in response to the needs of the expectant parents, children and families across the designated SureStart areas. As the Service Coordinator, you'll lead, manage, and inspire our Family Support Team to provide impactful support that transforms children's lives. You'll play a crucial role in developing Parenting Support services within the Sure Start provision, spanning three locations in Ballymena and Antrim. Additionally, you'll be the key person in charge at one of our sites, ensuring high standards in health and safety, property management and case with a strong focus on safeguarding requirements and childcare legislation. How you'll help to create brighter futures Some key responsibilities of a Service Coordinator role are; Providing a high-quality service to children on an assessment of need and outcomes. Taking responsibility for the delivery of quality services, including operational and strategic planning and deployment of resources and to work with commissioners and other external bodies. Providing direct and line management of staff, applying appropriate policies and procedures, also sharing knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring techniques. Delivering a safe and positive work and service environment through compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, health and safety policy and procedure. Let's talk about you Significant post qualification experience of working with children, young people and or families in a multi-agency environment and achieving positive outcomes through intervention. To manage and develop subordinate staff or a team. To prioritise workload, including staff to achieve and deliver within agreed timescales. Significant working and educational knowledge and understanding of childcare legislation and safeguarding requirements. Working in collaboration to achieve change within your immediate team and wider multi agency partnerships. Experience of effective partnership working. Experience of working with children aged 0-4 years old Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
