Our client is a leading local builder operating throughout Essex and the surrounding areas as a result of continued they have an opportunity for a Site Manager. The successful candidate will ensure the completion of the project within budget, on time, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
The Client
SME Main – contractor operating working on projects including refurbishment and new build schemes
Well established, with repetitive clients including: schools, hospitals, retail, student accommodation, public houses and care homes £100k to £3m.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee, organise, and direct on-site construction activities from inception to completion.
2. Coordinate and supervise a diverse team of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
3. Uphold compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
4. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensure milestones are met, and adjust plans as necessary.
5. Monitor project costs and budget, implementing cost-saving measures as required.
6. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration.
7. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to identify and address any issues or delays.
8. Prepare and submit project reports and documentation as required
Essential Skills and Qualifications
9. Proven track record in managing construction projects upto £2m.
10. A minimum of 5 years experience in construction site management
11. Relevant construction qualification
12. Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices
13. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
14. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
15. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cardholder
16. First Aid at Work qualification
17. Full UK driving licence
