Overview
We have an exciting new opening for a Project Manager to join our Northumbrian Water team due to contract expansion and securing 2 new frameworks on AMP8.
This role will focus on civils schemes, predominantly on water treatment, and environmental works.
We are a direct delivery specialist contractor for both the water industry and the broader water environment.
We currently hold 29 frameworks and work with most of the UK's water companies and the Environment Agency and have held frameworks with Northumbrian Water for over 30 years.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Framework Manager, you will be responsible for delivering civil and/or Environmental-biased schemes for Northumbrian Water.
You will work in a highly collaborative and proactive manner, ensuring that work is completed within clearly defined budgets and timescales.
Responsibilities:
Plan effectively from pre-construction to post-construction in line with all relevant policies, procedures, and best working practices.
Liaise effectively with support functions to enable effective project delivery and company performance.
Ensure the role in the capacity of temporary works coordinator is fulfilled adequately and in line with training.
Oversee Project and Site Coordinators, providing guidance where required.
Produce site files, including but not limited to the project programme, RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation.
Accept the role of principle contractor on behalf of the company, and if required, ensure the correct measures are in place for suitable management of sub- contractors.
Liaise effectively with the Commercial and support teams to control the finances on each job including but not limited to PayGo, live hire, plant, and materials.
Liaise with Coordinators and Supervisors to take accountability for accurate and timely submission of completed works and time sheets for the team.
Ensure suitable levels of team labour resource and competence. Liaise with line manager when required.
Create and maintain effective communication and a good working relationship with the client through meeting attendance, site visits, portal updates and so on.
Conduct annual Personal Development Reviews (PDR) with all direct reports and act on the future needs of the business to develop the team.
Ensure an understanding of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and the allocated responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act including those under the CDM Regulations 2015.
Ensure the entire team follows all necessary procedures and legislation.
Hold responsibility and accountability for project performance including finance, health and safety, and quality.
Have an appreciation for environmental matters, seeking to reduce carbon and increase biodiversity where possible.

Essential:
Extensive experience in the delivery of relevant projects
Ability to manage projects in a direct delivery model
Able to work alone own and using own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks
Full clean driving licence
A good communicator, able to liaise confidently and deal with a variety of people including the client, suppliers and wider team members face-to- face, in writing and on the telephone
Organised, focused and self-determined
Possess a positive attitude and be committed to high levels of care for staff and the client
Able to work flexibly in line with business requirement
Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel, Project
Desirable:
Possess a nationally recognised certificate of Health and Safety or NEBOSH qualification
Experience gained within the water industry, ideally clean water industry
Civils or Waterproofing/Concrete Repair Background
