Job Purpose
1. RES currently provides High Voltage Operations and Maintenance (HV O&M) Services to renewable energy assets in the UK & Ireland. Due to increased demand from our clients, we are seeking an HV Senior Authorised Person (400kV) to grow and improve this service.
2. RES provides OFTO O&M to a number of sites around the UK where we are required to provide full Safety from the System services and either delivery or delivery management of a full O&M service
Key Accountabilities The responsibilities of the HV SAP’s include:
3. Always adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standards
4. Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.
5. Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to:
6. Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents
7. Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
8. Acting as Control Engineer
9. Preparing switching schedules
10. Managing the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as required
11. Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
12. Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment
13. Maintaining the asset register
14. Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
15. Producing final reports
16. Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment.
17. Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training.
18. Keeping in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAP
19. Liaising with external stakeholders such as DNO/NGT and asset owner
20. Reacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances
21. Other duties commensurate with the role
Knowledge Essential:
22. HV Safe Systems of Work
23. Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance
24. Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules
25. Detailed knowledge of HV equipment
26. HV maintenance practices including HSG230
Desirable:
27. Knowledge of offshore working
Skills Essential:
28. Strong approach to safe working practices
29. Able to operate and maintain various types of HV plant/equipment.

32. Ability to coordinate multiple activities whilst ensuring safety and quality are maintained
33. Ability to identify problems, conduct analysis and develop solutions
Desirable:
34. Able to use equipment for testing and fault finding on HV plant/equipment
Experience Essential:
35. SAP Experience @ 400kV
36. Operation and maintenance of HV Equipment
37. Experience in fault finding on HV plant and equipment.
38. Commissioning HV plant and equipment.
Desirable:
39. Basic HV protection testing
40. 400kV SAP
Qualifications Essential:
41. Full UK driving licence
42. Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 400KV
43. IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalent
Desirable:
44. Electrical Engineering HNC or equivalent industry experience
