P r ocess Chemist Overview We ar e looking for an experienced P r ocess Chemist to join our client. In this role, you will assist the Chemistry Laboratory Manager in the analysis, control, and maintenance of all wet processes. You will also play an essential part in managing the Effluent Plant and ensuring that effluent controls are maintained in compliance with statutory regulations. This role operates on a night shift schedule (Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) and must have own transport due to location. Responsible to: Chemistry Laboratory Manager Main duties and responsibilities: Assist in the analysis, control, and maintenance of all wet chemistry processes, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Support the operation and management of the Effluent Plant, ensuring that all effluent controls and systems comply with legal and environmental requirements. Assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the laboratory and plant. Work closely with the Chemistry Laboratory Manager to help implement improvements and troubleshoot any issues with processes or equipment. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of data, including results of chemical analyses, effluent testing, and other relevant measures. Perform regular checks and maintenance on laboratory and plant equipment, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Contribute to the development of new processes and techniques to enhance productivity and compliance with industry standards. Requirements : Experience in working within an industrial environment, particularly in a process or laboratory setting. Strong understanding of effluent control processes and compliance with relevant regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on safety and quality. Familiarity with chemical safety regulations and environmental compliance. Experience in data analysis and reporting. Qualifications: Previous experience with effluent treatment or plant operation essential. A minimum of a degree-level qualification in Chemistry (or equivalent experience). At least 2 years of experience in working within a Chemistry Laboratory. Own transport essential due to location. Additional Information Employment Type: Permanent / Full Time Location: Outside Exeter (must have transport due to location) Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Remuneration £29,640 to £37,206 per annum Benefits: Competitive base salary with additional night shift allowance and overtime pay.
