We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Science and Computing Teacher to join a dynamic team in an Independent School. The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, alongside delivering basic Computing lessons. This is an exciting opportunity for a versatile educator who is passionate about both Science and digital literacy. This role will also include Saturday Mornings. This role begins ASAP in February 2025.
Duties as General Science Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Teach basic Computing skills, including digital literacy, coding fundamentals, and ICT applications
* Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support student learning and engagement
* Assess, track, and provide feedback on student progress, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking
* Work collaboratively with the Science and Computing departments to contribute to curriculum development
* Support students in developing problem-solving, analytical, and digital skills
* Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and educational trips
Ideal General Science Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Science, Computing, or a related subject
* Experience teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4, with some knowledge of Computing
* A passion for both Science and digital literacy, with the ability to engage and inspire students
* Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations for all learners as a General Science Teacher
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
