An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Accountant to take end-to-end ownership of project accounting for a major project. This role offers the chance to partner with key business stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy, visibility, and alignment with project goals. The successful candidate will be a team player who can ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with project budgets, while actively supporting change management initiatives.
The Key Remits to the role will include but not be limited to:
1. Implement and improve project accounting processes within the business.
2. Ensure project budgets are correctly uploaded, validated by relevant stakeholders, and updated in line with any approved changes or variations.
3. Manage change requests and internal/external variations, ensuring their financial impacts are analysed, communicated, and incorporated into forecasts and reporting.
4. Identify, assess, and manage financial risks associated with project changes, cost forecasts, and budgetary deviations.
5. Lead project reviews and provide actionable insights.
6. Manage monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
The Ideal candidate will be:
1. Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
2. Proven experience in project accounting.
3. Strong understanding of balance sheet and P&L.
4. Experience with change management in project environments.
5. Advanced Excel skills and experience using project management and accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
6. Prior experience in infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors is desirable.
