English is taught in a suite of 13 fully resourced classrooms, all with Smartboards and visualisers. In addition, we have use of a ‘Learning Zone’ for group revision, small group work and drama.
Throughout Year 7 and 8, students read and respond analytically and creatively, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of non-fiction and fiction texts including modern novels and plays, short stories, poetry and Shakespeare. KS4 students follow the Eduqas GCSE specifications in English Literature and English Language starting in Y9.
