Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Safety Systems Specialist to join our client, a leading manufacturer of electric buses. The successful candidate will work closely with various design teams and our supply base to ensure the launch of safe designs across our customer base.
The Electrical Safety Systems Specialist will be responsible for:
* Ensuring compliance with engineering practices in line with company Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes.
* Collaborating with the Head of Vehicle Systems and Vehicle Integration on project tasks and resource allocation for timely milestone achievement.
* Optimizing the distribution of engineering resources among competing requirements, including securing grants for financial support.
* Identifying and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and producing monthly reports for the Head of Vehicle Systems.
* Maintaining strong communication with Body, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Homologation teams for design consistency.
* Recruiting, developing, and training engineering teams while planning for future talent requirements and succession in line with technological developments.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Safety Systems Specialist will have a range of responsibilities, including:
* Reviewing and ensuring adherence to relevant international standards for functional safety.
* Conducting Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Experienced in Functional Safety Management Systems.
* Ability to conduct reviews and audits of existing systems and procedures.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
* A BEng Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Previous experience in a functional safety role working in accordance with a relevant international standard.
* A minimum of 5 years' electrical/electronic/software design experience.
* Evidence of ISO 26262 certification and training.
