An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join their respected Wills, Trusts & Probate team in the Bristol office. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the chance to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking legal environment.
The Role:
As a Paralegal in the Wills, Trusts & Estates department, you will be providing high-level administrative and legal support to a senior fee earner (Legal Director). You'll be the first point of contact for clients—often during sensitive times—so empathy, discretion, and professionalism are key.
This is an ideal role for someone with previous Private Client experience who thrives in a fast-paced legal setting and is eager to continue developing their expertise in Wills, LPAs, Probate, and Estate Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drafting and preparing Wills, LPAs, and Probate documentation under the guidance of the fee earner
* Assisting with file opening, ID checks, and compliance with AML regulations
* Liaising with clients, often during bereavement, with compassion and professionalism
* Preparing and issuing invoices, monitoring outstanding payments
* Attending home visits (alongside fee earner) as required
* Undertaking Land Registry, bankruptcy searches, and applying for S27 Notices
* Organising client meetings, taking calls, managing electronic and hard copy files
* General PA/paralegal duties including audio typing, diary management, and file closures
* Assisting other departments and covering reception when needed
About You:
Essential:
* Previous experience as a Paralegal in a legal environment (Wills & Probate preferred)
* Strong audio typing and document production skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and handle sensitive client matters
* Confident with MS Office and legal case management systems
Desirable:
* A Law Degree or equivalent qualification
* Experience with LPA and Estate Administration processes
* Familiarity with DPS or similar case management software
Salary & Benefits:
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience
* Friendly, professional team with strong mentorship and training available
* Opportunity to build a long-term career within a reputable law firm
