Main duties of the job The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Steriliser & Decontamination Services Maintenance Technician to be an active member of the Estates Department at County Hospital. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual, trained to HNC/HND level, who can work on their own and also as part of a team. Duties include providing technical support to the Steriliser & Decontamination Services Estates Manager, providing an efficient and cost effective system of specialist services in respect to the maintaining, testing, commissioning and validating sterilisers, autoclaves, washer/disinfectors (including Endoscope Disinfection machines) in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Health HTM and also providing support in other engineering disciplines to the Estates team. Applicants need to have previous maintenance experience within steriliser and decontamination services, including relevant training/qualifications and have a technical, engineering background with good computer skills. You will be stationed principally at the County Hospital site working 5 days a week Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, but may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by the UHNM NHS Trust and you will be required to carry out on-call duties.
