Integration Platform Lead Engineer

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Integration Platform Owner and spearhead engagements with project teams, engineering teams, and platform teams. You will lead on gathering requirements, analysis, design integrations, and collaboration with our offshore integration teams. The role is UK-based, but engagements with projects and teams within the Australian business region are expected.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead engagements with project teams, engineering teams, and platform teams to understand integration requirements and provide strategic guidance.
* Analyse and design integrations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological standards.
* Work closely with the Integration Platform Owner and offshore integration development team to facilitate seamless collaboration and efficient implementation of integration solutions.
* Leverage expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services to architect, develop, and optimise integration solutions within our platform.
* Utilise automation and testing techniques in a development lifecycle to ensure quality throughout development.
* Engage with projects and teams in the Australian business region, ensuring effective communication and understanding of regional requirements.
* Apply industry-specific knowledge to design and implement integrations that align with the unique needs and standards of our organisation.
* Ensure the quality of integration solutions through thorough testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement processes.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, designs, and configurations.
Qualifications and Experience:
* 3 years+ of hands-on experience in integration engineering roles, demonstrating successful leadership in complex integration projects.
* Understanding of various Azure services such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, etc.
* Familiarity with integration patterns such as publish-subscribe, request-reply, message routing, event-driven architecture, etc.
* Experience with Azure API Management for creating, managing, and securing APIs.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) on Azure, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, etc.
* Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Azure CLI for automating tasks and managing Azure resources programmatically.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strategic mindset for designing effective integration solutions.
* Experience working in an agile environment that follows Scrum or other agile methodologies.
Additional skills that will help you thrive in this role:
* Understanding of Azure networking concepts, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Azure ExpressRoute, Azure VPN Gateway, etc.
* Experience working with relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
* Familiarity with a range of integration technologies, protocols, and standards, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
* Knowledge of Azure security features and best practices for securing integrations, including Azure Active Directory, role-based access control (RBAC), Azure Key Vault, encryption, etc.
* Experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, Azure Log Analytics, and other monitoring and logging tools for tracking performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliability.
